E-Bike Tours in Napa

Napa's Most Unique Experiences - Without Wine. Irish Coffee Masterclass, learn to make the PERFECT Irish Coffee in one hour, perfect start to the day for small groups, bachelorette parties, they'll come to you for large corporate events too!

What’s the Best e-Bike Rental and Tour company in Napa?

Biking in Napa to the wineries

Renting and riding e-bikes to Napa is a great alternative to driving yourself or hiring an Uber. You’ll see a side of Napa that most people miss, the quiet country roads and bike paths that meander past vineyards, the smell of the grapes in the air, the breeze on your face, and with class 2 bikes with throttles it’s pretty easy to enjoy the day without breaking a sweat.

Not so fast!

Wait - you’ve never ridden an e-bike? Not to worry, it’s not like jumping on a Harley for the first time. A class 2 bike allows you to pedal with assist or not pedal and use a throttle. When you pedal any incline is a piece of cake, sort of like riding a 10 speed on level ground. Or you can throttle like a motorcycle, though the top speed is normally 20 mph so not exactly blinding, just fast enough. You control how much assist you want and can even turn it off if you just want to pedal on our own.

self guided tours, group tours, group events

Whether you’re on a romantic weekend or planing a large corporate event activity, there are plenty of options. Some people are good with a map, a picnic lunch, and off they go. We’’ll help you pick wineries nearby and give you suggestions for your half or full day adventure.

Or go with a join-in group or custom group event where all of the details are taken care of for you and you’ll be joined by a best-in-class tour guide who will enhance your day with wine and winery education along the way.

Perfect Day! - Awesome views! Fantastic guide! Bikes were in great condition, so super easy to ride! Wine tasting was fun. Overall a fabulous way to explore Napa Valley!

Review provided by Tripadvisor

You’ll discover smaller boutique wineries away from the maddening tourist crowds and enjoy a picnic lunch provided by Bouchon Bakery, a Napa favorite from the same person who brought you The French Laundry. How gourmet of you!

On the guided tour you’ll cover a comfortable 3 to 6 miles between stops, covering a total of 12 to 17 miles. Remember, a mile on an e-bike is like a walk around the block so it’s all very do-able for all levels of riders. You control the amount of assist so if you want a workout just turn the assist down or turn it off completely or ask yourself “what would Wally do” and throttle away without guilt!

So Many Bike Rental Companies in Napa - WHICH IS THE BEST?

There are over a dozen bike rental companies in Napa but I really like Napa Valley Bike Tours. They have two rental locations, downtown Napa and Yountville, and their bikes are in great condition and their service top of the line. They’ll help you figure out your best options and routes to take.

What’s it cost for an e-bike tour?

Rates can change without notice so take my pricing with a grain of salt and confirm when you are booking but figure a full day guided tour with a picnic lunch provided is less than $200 per person, a bit less if you do a self guided tour. With both tour options they’ll deliver a gourmet picnic lunch to you and pick up any wines you might have purchased so don’t worry about lugging a case of wine on your back all day. Wine tasting fees are not included since the winery stops will vary depending on your tour. Half day tours also available.

And you can also forgo any of the frills that the guided and self guided tours provide and just rent a bike, either electric or self powered, for even less money. Of course you might regret that if you buy wine but hey, it’s an option if you’re just looking to ride around and taste a bit.

Is it worth it? You can’t really compare the experience of riding a bike to a winery versus riding an Uber or hiring a driver. The costs for transportation may be similar at the end of the day but the e-bike is way more fun. So yes, if you’re looking for another level of adventure then e-bike your way through Napa and enjoy every second of the day. Worth it, so worth it.
