If you’re coming to Napa to buy wine but not sure where to start or just want to expand your winery horizons then you need to try my new FREE Winery Matchmaking Service.

You tell us what sort of wines you love and my expert winery guides will custom pick wineries that match up to your wish list. They’ll take you deep into Napa, to wineries that few tourists visit, some that require you to know an “insider” to get inside. And guess what? We’re insiders!

They can make your reservations if you want, they’ll pick you up and host you for the day, they’ll help you find the elusive wines and winery experiences that you’ve been dreaming of. No castles. No tram rides. This is deep hidden Napa!

Here’s How It Works!

  1. Reach out to me and let me know your dates you are here and the number of people in your party.

  2. Let me know if you are an experienced collector or a new wine lover and provide an estimate as to how much you want to spend on each bottle of wine. Typically wine buyers purchase a case of 12 bottles.

  3. I’ll connect you with a guide/driver who will work with you to match up wineries that meet your requests. They can even make the reservations for you.

  4. On your arrival date the guide/driver will pick you up and take you to the winery appointments. You pay the wineries directly for any tasting fees or purchases - there is no mark up from the driver or myself.

  5. That’s it! It’s like having your best friend in the wine industry show you around.

HOW DO YOU PICK THE WINERIES? We’ll find out what you sort of wines you like and hook you up with wineries we think match up the best.

DO I HAVE TO BUY WINE? While the goal is to find wines you love there is no obligation to purchase anything. But some wineries will waive their tasting fees with purchase, and there are some smaller wineries that do anticipate a purchase, but we’ll let you know all the details upfront so that there is no stress, no confusion, and the everyone is on the same page before you even arrive. I hate surprises!

CAN’T I JUST DO THIS MYSELF? Most of the wineries we will select are so far off the beaten path that you probably would never find them. We know all the good hidden gems!

THIS SOUNDS SCARY AND INTIMIDATING! Oh no, this is still a fun wine tasting experience. Think of it as an elevated wine tasting experience that’s focused on those who might want to purchase wine.

IS THIS EXPENSIVE: No - though it might cost a bit more than a standard “by the hour” driver the costs are quite reasonable, just slightly higher than a basic driver. Plus remember, you’re using our connections to get you into some really cool wineries. If your goal is to find unique wineries with the hopes of finding some you really love enough to take home, then use this service and let us use our expertise to connect you with these hidden wineries.

SO THEY DRIVE ME TOO? Yes, the service includes the driver who can either drive you in their vehicle or in a rental if that’s what you have.

WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? I will admit that I did not go to business school so this is probably a horrible business plan but after talking with so many wineries that told me that they needed more wine “buyers” and fewer wine “tasters” I realized that I could possibly help them solve this problem. I also saw this as a way to expose my readers to some of Napa’s hidden wineries - Napa has so many wineries but most tourists visit a dozen in their lifetime, leaving hundreds of options left unexplored. So if all goes as planned, this new program should make the wineries happy but also my readers, which makes me happy too.

As for what’s in it for me, the drivers pay me a small commission but that’s it - and there is no mark up with the driver. Also, a lot of the drivers discount their rates for my readers so it’s really a win-win for everyone. As for the wineries, there is no mark up or extra fees and neither myself or the driver gets paid to recommend a winery. This is our way to making the internet a nicer place :-)
